Planning to travel outside of the U.S?
To help you pack
One of the easiest ways to start packing for your trip is to refer to your tour
itinerary. Is there really an opportunity for you to change clothes 3 times in a
day? Probably not. We suggest that you comb through the itinerary day by day and
figure out how many outfits you would realistically need. Usually, one outfit per
day will get you through.
Next, check out www.weather.com to check the forecast for the destinations that
you will be traveling to. Make sure you make note of the LOW temperatures as well
as the HIGH. AND BELIEVE THEM! There's nothing worse than shivering your way
through a trip because you really didn't think it would be THAT COLD. Better to
have a jacket with you and use it - than to have no jacket at all.
Make a list of everything that you'd like to take, including your toiletries.
You'll be less likely to forget an item if you check them off as you pack! You
should pack your valuables and medications in your carry on item (if you're
flying, you'll need to be aware of current security measures before packing.)
Make sure that you bring along plenty of film and / or batteries for your camera.
Put anything like perfume, shampoo, sunscreen, etc. into resealable bags. Should any items spill, the liquid is contained and will not soak into any of
your other personal items.
You should slip a piece of paper into your luggage with your name, address and
phone number, just in case your bag takes a journey without you.
How about those feet?
You will always walk much more on a tour than you typically do at home. The
importance of comfortable footwear cannot be stressed enough! We encourage you to
pack FANTASTIC walking shoes for your tour. If your feet get miserable - so will the rest of you. Give up fashion for function! Make those feet HAPPY! We want you
walking, walking, walking-not hobbling, hobbling, hobbling! When in doubt - test
your shoes before you go. Take a 2 mile stroll in those shoes you love. If they
still feel great by the end of that - go ahead and bring them along.
Snack, anyone?
It's always nice to have a little something to snack on while you are traveling
down the road. Many of our tours will include on board snacks for the trip, but if
we don't, you're encouraged to bring along your own stash of goodies. You'll save
yourself a bundle of money by not paying $1.00 from a vending machine for
something you can get at home for $.30.
For your comfort
When traveling by motorcoach you'll want to bring along a sweater or coverlet to
snuggle into. If you're traveling through the night - a large pillow is also a
must! A motorcoach becomes our "Living Room" that we share together - sometimes
for days at a time. We encourage all participants to keep the coach clean and will
check the coach at the end of each day.
